Creation of the Occitan Quantum Institute: boosting research on quantum technologies

Announced on January 21, 2021 by Emmanuel Macron, the “Quantum Plan” aims to organize the country’s scientific and industrial forces to make France a major player in quantum technologies. These demands are shared by the academic and industrial actors of the Occitan Region who have decided to structure the development of quantum technologies at the regional level around the new Occitan Quantum Institute created on January 1st, 2021. In addition to the support of the universities Toulouse III – Paul Sabatier and Montpellier, INSA and CNRS, the Occitan Region decided to support this collective project through the funding of a key challenge “Quantum Technologies” carried by the CNRS.
